Friends of Strand School is the Parent Teacher Association of Strand on the Green Infant & Nursery and Junior Schools.

The role of "Friends" is to advance the education of the pupils. We do this in the following key ways:

• By raising funds for capital projects
• By providing social opportunities for anyone involved/interested in the school
• By providing a voice for "Friends"

Events

We raise funds from six key events held across the academic year:

• Fireworks Night & Christmas Fair (Autumn Term)
• Pantomime & Auction of Promises (Spring Term)
• School Discos & Summer Fair (Spring Term)

Additional funds came via local company sponsorship.

Projects

Projects that have benefited from this money in the past include the new computer suite for the Junior and Infant School, the Adventure Trail for the Junior School, refurbishment of the Nursery, funding for the refurbishment of the Infant School hall, and the purchase of Interactive Whiteboards for the Junior School.

Getting Involved

There are many ways to get involved:

• Support the Events... by coming along with friends & family
• Help out with the events - doing as much or a little as you want
• Come to meetings. We meet at 7:30pm on the first Tuesday of every month during term time in the community room at Strand on the Green school.
